WHAT WE DO
SMMI provides teaching and inspiration to Christian musicians, artists, worship leaders, and intercessors through instructional and ministry materials while offering encouragement, counsel, and hospitality to young Christian musicians and seasoned mentors.
After many years in fruitful international music ministry, Jimmy and Carol Owens felt it was time to pass on their experience and expertise to a new generation of Christian musicians, songwriters, and worship leaders. In 1991, the vision for the School of Music Ministries International was born.
Over the following two decades, Jimmy and Carol recruited seasoned Christian musicians, singers, worship leaders, and songwriters to teach and mentor thousands of students in Asia, Europe, Australia, and the US. These students were trained in every aspect of music ministry from local church worship-leading to songwriting to evangelism through music.
In more recent years, SMMI continues Jimmy and Carol’s vision through printed and recorded resources as well as prayer support and personal encouragement for young and veteran musicians, artists, and writers.
